How to use

Product description
The Mepore Pro wound pad is an absorbent viscose pad with a low-adherent wound-contact layer. The vapor permeable film provides a moisture proof barrier, which protects from fluid strike through and bacterial contamination. Mepore Pro conforms well to body contours. The water-based acrylic adhesive is skin-friendly and free from organic solvents.

The adhesive area is covered with two overlapping release papers enabling aseptic application.

Mode of action
The adhesive border of Mepore Pro seals the area surrounding the wound in order to avoid external contamination. Mepore Pro is moisture-proof and provides physical protection to the wound.

Intended use
Mepore Pro is intended for use on low to moderately exuding wounds, such as surgical wounds, cuts, and abrasions.

Instruction for use
Application:

1. Open the sterile pack and remove the dressing.
2. Remove the protection paper, exposing the adhesive surface. Position the dressing over the wound without stretching.
3. Firmly smooth the adhesive border onto the skin to obtain proper adhesion.
4. Do not stretch the dressing when applying.
5. Upon removal grasp the edge and slowly peel the dressing from the skin in the direction of hair growth.

Frequency of change
The frequency of dressing changes should be governed by the condition of the wound in accordance with accepted clinical practice.

Precautions
Mepore Pro should not be applied on patients who are sensitive to acrylic adhesive.
Care should be taken to minimize skin tension that could cause mechanical damage to the skin:

1. Ensure that Mepore Pro is not applied under tension.
2. When applying over joints one should be careful to apply in such a way that it does not impair flexibility of joints.
3. After some surgical interventions excessive swelling may occur. In such a case it could be better to use a more flexible dressing, such as Mepore Film polyurethane film, in order to minimize skin tension.
4. The wound should be inspected for signs of infection according to clinical practice.

In case of clinical signs of infection such as pain, redness, swelling or unusual odor or discharge, continued use of Mepore Pro should be determined by a health care professional.
